Truth, the upcoming drama abut “Rathergate” starring Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford, will arrive in theaters Oct. 16, Sony Pictures Classics announced Friday.
The film is based on Mary Mapes’ 2005 book, Truth and Duty, which the author wrote about her experience producing for Dan Rather on 60 Minutes and the ensuing controversery that occurred when Rather investigated whether or not President George W. Bush fulfilled his service requirements during the Vietnam War.
Blanchett will play Mapes, and Redford is set to play Rather. Elisabeth Moss and Dennis Quaid will also appear in the film.
